Steve Korver is an award-winning (copy)writer/editor based in Amsterdam.
As a specialist in one-liners and more, he covers basic human rights: food, drink, healthcare, travel, clean supply chains, sex, etcetera. He also does a lot of ghostwriting – putting the thought into leadership.
As a journalist, he has written and edited many travel guidebooks, and contributes to publications such as New York Times, Guardian, Time Out, McSweeney’s Quarterly, Wallpaper, Conde Nast Traveller and The Globe & Mail.
As a copywriter, he’s worked on international communication campaigns and projects for Augury, City of Amsterdam, Diesel, DSM-Dyneema, ECCO, Fatboy, Heineken, IKEA, Stedelijk Museum and TomTom with creative agencies such as DEPT, KesselsKramer, Natwerk, StrawberryFrog and Tribal DDB. Between 2012 and 2017 he was a founding editor at the multiple-award winning online platform Love Matters – where he also wrote the column ‘Sex in the Press’. Previously, he was editor-in-chief of the alternative cultural paper Amsterdam Weekly for 175 issues and 14 European Newspaper Awards.
In past lives he’s been a carpenter, doorman and B-movie actor. In a future life he hopes to get funding to finish ultimate books on Amsterdam, Yuri Gagarin and the complexities of human relationships.
